Awake early, eat, break camp, devotions, harness and saddle up.

Travel 10- 15 miles per day, set up camp. Each member of the train will be assigned a wagon as home base. All are expected to work with the duties assigned. Every one is welcome to attend, but be prepared to live without modern conveniences.

Attire, in period clothing men, women and children is manatory. Females can ride in jeans during the day but must be in long dresses and bonnets in evening, men in pioneer western wear (vest and suspenders are encouraged). No modern clothing. Pets, coolers, or suitcases are not allowed. Use of private vechiles during the ride is not allowed.

Saddle Horses are not provide. You can bring your own. A donation of $10.00+ for feed is appreciated.

Other activities: candle making, soap making, rope making, and nature hikes.

Limitied to 60 participants.

Registration closes May 1.

Fees cover 9 meals. Bring your own snackes for trail. Suggested donation is $50.00 to cover food, wagon team

up keep.

Take gravel road west of Know. Go 5 miles North, 1 mile West, then 1 mile North.

The ride will be going to Wolford ND. A meal will be served at the Wolford Bar when they get there.

Native American Day

A legacy from the Native American people is sugaring. They showed colonists how to cut Vs into the maple bark to capture and then concentrate the sap (also called mape water). Maple syrup and sugar were treated as a commodity in the early days. As sweeteners were hard to come by in the Northern USA. It takes 40-50 gallons of sap to produce 1 gallion of maple syrup. It is graded by how much light can pass through it. The lighter the color the finer, more delicate the flavor. The sap is processed down to approx 66% sugar. The taps in the trees are placed in 2 inches, and are 5/8 diameter.

Central North Dakota Steam Threshers 54th Annual Reunion

Where: New Rockford, ND

When: 3rd weekend in September, a Friday, Saturday, & Sunday event.

The Central North Dakota Steam Threshers 54th Annual Reunion will be held in New Rockford Sept. 2012.

A full schedule of events has been planned for this 54th annual reunion. a different steam engine if featured each year. The feature in 2012 will be John Deere.

The Parade of Engines and other equipment is held daily at 2 p.m.

Other daily events include steam plowing at 3:30 p.m.,

indoor craft sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and an

outdoor flea market from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saw mill and threshing demonstrations will be given daily, along with a stationary engine display, a model train exhibit, prony brake, washing show, blacksmithing, spinning wheel and rope making.

The Threshermen's Breakfast is served daily from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Eddy County 4-H Clubs will serve a dinner and food vendors will be on hand all weekend.

Musical entertainment will be provided by___________________ on Saturday at 12:45 and 3 p.m._____________________________will perform on Sunday at the same times.

The Tractor Ride will be held _______________. The night before the threshing show.

Last year, the ride is from New Rockford to Sheyenne and back.

Special events will include square dancing on Friday from 7-9 p.m.,

an old time dance on Friday from 9-11:30 p.m.,

a kid's pedal pull on Saturday at 10 a.m. (register at 9 a.m.),

a music jamboree on Saturday at 7 p.m.

an all-faith church service on Sunday at 9 a.m.

A tractor pull will be held at 3 p.m., with weigh-in at 1 p.m.

At the Cooper Building, there will be women's auxiliary displays and drawings and Bingo will be held all three days: Friday at 4 p.m., Saturday at 1 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m.

Souvenirs will be available at Tiffany Hall in the Pioneer Village.
